ISKCON is abbreviated for International Society for Krishna Consciousness, one of the great movements started for spiritual society. This movement was founded in 1966 by New York based A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. The main aim of the ISKCON temple is to gather all people from all over the world with expressing universal for self-realization. This will definitely help in acquiring consciousness for deriving the benefits for religious understanding in terms of Peace and Unity. You will come across many temples of ISKCON not only in India but as well as all over the world. ISKCON belongs to a monotheistic tradition from Gaudiya Sampradaya Vaishnava in the Vedic culture. At present there are more than 400 temples, more than 100 vegetarian and 40 rural communities.

About ISKCON Temple
It was believed that Vedic literature urged that in our Kaliyug age, the effective thing that will overcome our sins if any will be sorted out by self realizing and by remembering all effective thought put down by Lord Krishna. This is the reason most of the people do chant “Hare Krishna Hare Ram”. The continuous chanting of this directly gets you close to Lord Krishna, as it is believed that vibration of sound helps in acquiring unity and peace. The ISKCON follows all teachings of Vedic and Vedas scriptures including Srimad Bhagavatam and Bhagavad Gita. This thought us good lessons such as Vaishnavism or true devotion towards Lord Krishna. All this teachings are hence received from preceptorial quote known as “Sri Sri Radha”.
Temple of ISKCON is an integral part bounded with disciple succession that was initially started by Krishna Bhagwan (Lord), which was further continued by Srila Vyasadeva, Srila Vyasadeva, Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and now by His A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada along with his followers. The principles that are included in ISKCON are entirely based on the teachings of non-sectarian followed with teachings of eternal Religion or Sanatana dharma that truly denotes all living being eternal activities.
To teach systematically all knowledge about spiritual activities that will help the young generation to know about the importance of religious knowledge. This will help the society to know more about values and culture, along with peace and unity.
To get acquainted with Lord Krishna’s consciousness, this is revealed in Srimad Bhagavatam and Bhagavad Gita.
To bring all members together who are nearer to Lord Krishna, which will help in developing the humanity and idea of the members.
To encourage and teach members about the movement of Sankirtana and by chanting the congregational Holy name of Lord Krishna.

To gather all people from communities in order to show the purpose of teaching in simpler and in natural way towards life.
Along with this the last aim is to aforementioned all effective purposes and are published which are distributed periodically in books, magazines and others.
Activities of ISKCON Temples
Value Education: They train children by conducting activities such as singing, Dancing, creative exercises, painting, fancy dress competition, dramas, sloka recitation and many more. All this books are then published specially for children in order to get all wonderful knowledge been told by Lord Krishna. During summer vacations, there are special camps organized in which children from all over the country visit for learning and fun experience. They make sure that the number of children do not exceed by 25. The registration for such courses starts from June.
Empowering Women: The youth are separately trained by female and male teachers, just because the psychology of both are little different from each other. The main objective of this activity is to teach them about the values and few tips from overcoming anger, depression, greed, inferiority complex and fear. Besides these they also teach al devotional activities such as maintaining deity, puja and all pure habits.
Youth Training: This is the best activity for the youth as they get best training by educating themselves with different courses. Training to the youth is based on application of principles, values and philosophy that to be applied in personal life. Also, training in manners, proper behavior and etiquettes. In short to teach the youth how to be well mannered in all aspects of life.
Wisdom Literature: This activity is totally based on promoting basic values and respecting them in order to combat all vices and evils. They have special storey with books that includes Yoga for the Modern age, Bhagavad Gita, Art of Control and many more that will help in increasing the self-satisfaction and self-control. This will definitely increase the co-operation, brotherhood, morale and all religious values in their mind. This activity also increases awareness of the rich Vedic heritage and culture of India.
Besides these there are various activities that are conducted such as spiritual counseling, cultural activities, deity worship, and all essential things required for today’s generation.
