In my recent trip to Phuket, there was something that took my interest. The scenic island view of Phuket was magnetic that ignites some magic. The cost line and sprawling seascape give an entirely new perspective of Phuket. I didn’t know much about these viewpoints, but when I discovered them, I couldn’t hold my happiness and spent enough time. If you are visiting Phuket for the first time, then you must list down these viewpoints that will help in watching a whole new picture of Phuket. Whether it is a sunset-watching or 360 degrees of South of the Island, these viewpoints of Phuket are worth exploring. To explore these viewpoints, you will need a vehicle to make travel easier.

I booked a bike for rent that made by traveling much easy and faster. Let me now take you to some of the top viewpoints in Phuket:

Also known as the Pa Hin Dam in Thai, Black Rock Viewpoint is a challenging point to visit. If you love hiking and adventurous walk, then this should be in your list. I was appalled with the stunning view of the south of Phuket like Nai Harn Beach, Promthep Cape, and Koh Man. I was told that before 2016 it wasn’t much known, but later as tourist started visiting this point, it came into the light. Once I landed there, it looked like a large terrace made up of soil above the cliff. It also features huge black granite stone, so it got the name of Black Rock Viewpoint. To reach here, I took a trail leading to Nui Beach. However, I had to leave my bike at the parking lot. During the trail, I came across the beautiful cape named Laem Krating.

Karon Viewpoint

Next I reached was the Kata Viewpoint, one of the frequently visited Phuket. Located between Nai Harn and Kata Noi Beaches, it remains busy throughout the day. During the trail, I found that it is called as Khao Saam Haad locally. One of the most photographed images of Karon Viewpoint is the iconic outlook featuring the best of the island. I was stunned to watch the blue sea, snow-white surf, and white beaches that make this location look exotic. I would certainly recommend you to visit this viewpoint.

Laem Singh Viewpoint

This viewpoint is located between the coast road of Kamala Beach and Surin Beach. Upon visiting this place, I rested for few minutes and experience the magic this place holds. Structures here were built in 2009 and by walking a few minutes you will reach Laem Singh Beach. However, I witnessed that there is less space here which leads to quickly filling up. I wanted to see the sunset from the viewpoint, but had to come down a little bit to view without any obstruction. I visited this place in the afternoon and was really a good time to visit.

Monkey Hill

Known as the Toh Sae Hill in Phuket, the Monkey Hill is famous for the troupe of macaques munching away the fruit brought by locals. It is also the home of few TV and Radio stations, where many locals jog on the daily basis. I met a guy who is known as Pae Hog (Uncle Hog) who said that there are about 400 macaques here. Whenever he arrives at the location, he brings food for them to avoid chaos in the area. There is a colorful shrine down the hill which I visit after strolling for few minutes. This shrine belongs to- Toh Sae Dang, Toh Sae Dam, and Toh Sae Kaow, and is usually busy on Friday.

Windmill Viewpoint

This viewpoint got its name after the sleek and three bladed wind turbines built at the top. But I didn’t visit this windmill. It was the best viewpoint I visited in Phuket. The lush green mountain complimented well with the clear blue sky. Upon looking down, I could see Ya Nui Beach with Phromthep Cape in the distance. The clear sky allowed me to capture the best picture.

Big Buddha

One of the important landmarks in Phuket, Big Buddha is the biggest viewpoint I ever came across. Sitting on the top of Nakkerd Hills between Chalong and Kata, the statue is 45 meters tall. The statue offers 360-degree view of the island including Phuket Town, Kata, Karon, Chalong Bay, and many more. I went through the history of this statue and got to know that the statue was built in 2004 and is 25 meters across the base. There is a small Buddha statue made up of gold color. It was a refreshing moment to watch this.

Khao Khad Viewpoint

Located at the hilltop of the Cape Panwa, I found this found little hard to reach. I took the stairs leading to the hill where I saw two level viewing towers offering the best 360-degree view of the southern part of Phuket. It was really a great experience to visit this viewpoint.

These viewpoints I visited are located in different regions and so it is good to rent a bike or vehicle to reach these points. Midway I also had some great food to gain some energy and taste the local delicacy. These restaurants are located strategically to offer great view of blue sea.
