Char Dham Yatra Packages are easily and readily available to people not only from different parts of India but the rest of the world as well. A number of travel agents and tour operators offer a vast variety of Char Dham yatra packages to cover the needs of different tourists. Char Dham tour packages basically cover four of the most important religious places in India; Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri. It is widely believed that a visit to these places will help people attain moksha or freedom from the circle of life and death. The four shrines receive water from four different rivers; Yamunotri gets water from River Yamuna, Gangotri from River Bhagirathi, Kedarnath from River Mandakini and Badrinath from River Alaknanda.
The only thing that you should remember is that due to rains, snow fall and extreme conditions these shrines are closed from November to April and hence can be visited only from May to October. Hence, it is important to make a booking in advance so as to get a confirmed reservation and the best possible prices. The packages include a trip to all four religious places:
Badrinath: It is considered to be the abode of Lord Vishnu and is the holiest of all Dhams. It is located 3133 meters above sea level and is definitely one of the most beautiful places in the country as it is situated against a backdrop of Neelkanth Peak with the River Alaknanda flowing nearby.
Kedarnath: This shrine is believed to be the abode of Lord Shiva and is about 3584 meters above sea level. It is believed that a visit to this place is a must for devotees of Lord Shiva as it is one of his 12 Jyotirlingas. Mandakini flows by increasing the natural beauty of this shrine by a great deal. You can reach Gaurikund by road and then have to trek the last 14 kilometers to reach Kedarnath.
Gangotri: Located at a height of 3042 meters above sea level, Gangotri is the place from where the River Ganga or Bhagirathi originates. As the Ganges is considered to be of great importance to the people of India, this place is thronged by tourists from all over the world. It is believed that thousands of years ago, Goddess Ganga manifested herself in the form of a river at this very place.
Yamunotri: This is the last of the four Dhams and is about 3165 meters above sea level. It is the starting point of the River Yamuna and consists of a hot water pool where Prasad is prepared.
Char Dham tour packages are offered by a number of travel agents who guarantee a safe and comfortable visit to all these places at competitive prices. A wide range of options are available to tourists from all over the country and the rest of the world and you should choose the one that is best suited to your requirements and budget.
