Itinerary
Day 01 – Delhi
Arrival: 16.00 hrs and Departure: 1800 hrs
Your lifetime journey starts from Safdarjung Railway station at 4.00 pm in terms of checking and reporting formalities. It feels special, as you get a warm welcome while starting your journey from New Delhi. Sharp at 6.30 pm the train departs for Jaipur. Delight your lavish dinner with on board facilities at 8.00 pm. The dinner is served overnight, so just relax and enjoy your food.
Day 02 – Jaipur:
Arrival: 03.45 hrs and Departure: 22.00 hrs
The first stop of the Palace on Wheels is the pink city called Jaipur. All passengers are served with morning breakfast aboard the Palace on Wheels at 7.oo am. Welcome ceremony is done on 08.00 hrs at the Jaipur Railway Station. Shehnai and elephants recitations greet all passengers when you arrive at the Jaipur station. At 08.30 hrs, the passengers disembark from the train and begin with the city tours. During your tour to Jaipur, you visit the Jantar Mantar, Hawa Mahal, Amber fort, Nahargarh fort and many other places.
To explore the Jaipur city, the passengers are allowed to sit in an air-conditioned bus to explore their journey with comfort and luxury. Palace of Mirrors is best to experience during the tour. You can wrap up your day by shopping in the Jaipur markets, which is famous for carpets, jewelry, handicrafts, gems, antiques, textiles, pottery, leather ware and metal work. Boarding the same luxurious coaches will take you back to the Rajasthan Palace on Wheels train roughly 1830 hrs and later the dinner would be served.
Day 03 – Sawai Madhopur
Arrival: 05.30 hrs and Departure: 10.30 hrs
Move yourself enthrall on the third day of journey to Sawai Madhopur of Palace on Wheels. It is located in the east part of the Rajasthan. Early morning at 6am, you are allowed to move to the Jungle Safari across the Ranthambore National Park. Near about 9.15 am, all passengers are serve breakfast in a jungle lodge. The park is stretched over 1, 334 sq km and is famous for main tiger reserve. Once you done with the safaris and lunch, they allow all passengers to come back in trains at 10am to depart for Chittorgarh. Your lunch is serve onboard ay 1pm with lavish delights in your plate.
On the same day you will explore sightseeing across the Chittorgarh fort, as train arrives at 16.00 hrs. Once sightseeing is done, evening tea and refreshments are offered in the fort cafeteria with light and sound show at 6 pm. Dinner is serving at Hotel Panna with Cultural show at 20.00 hrs. Back to Palace on Wheels as you travel to your next destination towards Udaipur.
Day 04 – Udaipur
Arrival: 02.00 hrs and Departure : 16.00 hrs
Udaipur was founded by Maharana Udai Singh as it is home to numerous white palaces, lakes and graceful gardens that contribute a lot in making the place popular. Disembark in Jaisalmer at 9.15 pm and start your journey by exploring some of the beautiful places in the city. Visit forts, palaces and temples. The two most worth to visit in Udaipur are the beautiful landmarks namely the Jag Mandir and the Jag Niwas on the Lake Pichola. After lunch in a heritage hotel at 13.30 hrs, you will enjoy a boat ride in the Pichola Lake around 14.30 hrs. Back to railway station at 15.00 hrs along with evening tea and refreshments at 15.30 hrs onboard, while departs to Jaisalmer. Dinner is served aboard at 19.30 hrs while moving your journey to Jaisalmer.
Day 5 – Jaisalmer
Arrival: 07.30 hrs and Departure: 23.00 hrs
The Palace on Wheels arrives in Jaisalmer on the fifth day of the journey. During the tour at Jaisalmer you will see the beauty of Sonar Quila, one of the amazing forts built by the Rajput’s Bhatti in 1156. Discover the magnificent mansions or latticed havelis such as Patwon ki Haveli, Salim Sing ki Haveli and Nathmalji ki haveli. Once exploring is done, you can conclude your journey by shopping amazing pattu shawls, wooden boxes, silver jewellery, curious, wooden boxes, trinkets and mirror worked embroidered articles.
After the lunch at Moomal hotel or aboard at 13.30 hrs, visit Sam Sand Dunes for camel ride and tea refreshments at 15.30 hrs. There is a cultural program arrange along with dinner at 19.30 hrs in the sand dunes. Arrive back to train at 23.00 hrs that will be departing for Jodhpur.
Day 6 – Jodhpur
Arrival: 07.00 hrs and Departure: 15.30 hrs
You arrive in Jodhpur aboard on the palace on wheels with an eventful beginning of your next journey. During the visit you are going to explore the largest fort in India namely, Mehrangarh fort situated in the heart of Jodhpur city. Besides these there are other palaces worth to visit including the Phool Mahal, the Moto Mahal and the Shisha Mahal. Later you can take a quick glimpse of the Jaswant Thada, a royal cenotaph entirely built with White marble.
At 14.00 hrs you have your lunch in luxury hotels after visiting all city attractions and later at 15.30 hrs, return to palace on wheels for travel and leisure to Bharatpur. Make sure you don’t forget to visit the markets of the city which is all set to sell lovely handicrafts items such as antiques, dye fabrics, embroidered shoes and peculiarity of Rajasthan clothes i.e. “Bandhini”. Dinner and stay onboard is arranged on the Palace on Wheels.
Day 7 – Bharatpur
Arrival: 05.00 hrs and Departure: 23.00 hrs
You arrive at Bharatpur early in the morning at 05.00 hrs and at 6am you leave for bird viewing in the Keoladeo Ghana National Park. Bharatpur is a wonderful place for Bird Sanctuary, where you can spot various species of colorful birds including migratory birds. Breakfast is arranged in a jungle lodge at 07.30 hrs. Around 8.30 am all passengers are requested to return back to the Palaces on Wheel. You are about to leave at 8.45am to continue your journey to Agra.
On the same day you arrive in Agra at 10.30am. On the way to your Agra trip, you will come across 16th century historical town named Fatehpur Sikri, which was built by Akbar. After that you are going to visit the largest gateway across the world, Buland Darwaza, the tomb of Sheikh Salim Chisti and the Jama Mosque. Tour to Agra is incomplete without visiting the love symbol and also one of the seven wonders of world, Taj Mahal. This monument was built in the memory of Shajahan’s beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. Visit the Agra markets, then make yourself free on the lights and sound show at 6.30 pm. Have your relish dinner either in a city hotel or board the train. Finally it’s the time to wrap your wonderful journey as you have to depart for Delhi at 23.00 hrs.
Day 8 – Delhi
You will arrive in Delhi at the same place from where your journey of Rajasthan Royal Palace on Wheels started. At four o’ clock in the morning you arrive in the Safdarjung Railways station. Till 7.30 am you check out and farewell duties are done along with breakfast arrangements on aboard the train. The lovely memories of the Palace on Wheels are going to continue in your mind for a long time.
